Gas Props / Lift Cylinders

Truck Cap Gas Props

  • The C 16 number can be found on the cylinder end - it is printed on the prop in white (see picture below)
  • For Measurements:

    EXT =
Extended Length from the center of one ball mount location (one end) to the other while the prop is fully extended

COMP = Compressed Length from the center of one ball mount location to the other while the prop is fully compressed.

ADDITIONAL MEASUREMENT TIP: To ensure you get the best fit for your application, the compressed measurement should come from the ball mounts this prop will be mounted to - when the unit is closed. If it's a topper door, climb in the bed of the truck, close the topper door and measure center ball mount to center ball mount. Relying on the props compressed measurement alone could result in difficulties finding a good fitting replacement.

How to install pistons

NOTE: When installing gas props, make sure the cylinder is pointed down. (See picture above) This allows for the shaft to stay lubricated and last longer.
